Experienced nurses being ‘forced’ into career demotions
Nurses working at higher bands are effectively being forced into lower-paid, less senior roles for reasons that put women at greatest disadvantage, including lack of flexible working options, according to a new report from the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing. It says its research shows many nurses, particularly women, face a ‘trap-door’ in their careers, having to choose between their health or family commitments and their careers
