How people with learning disabilities can help train professionals
In Bradford, the Healthier Lives group, part of Bradford People First, and a local strategic health facilitator have been training professionals to become aware of the difficulties people with learning disabilities face when trying to access healthcare services. This article describes the preparation and delivery of a training session offered to pharmacists, during which some people’s problems with medications were explained, and the reasonable adjustments pharmacists can make to improve access and meet the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 were discussed.
