Planning care for service users who have a deteriorating condition
This article describes the assessment, development and review of a care plan for a person with a learning disability and Becker muscular dystrophy. Such service users should be as mobile and independent as possible, and measures to promote their physical and mental health include exercise, diet and smoking cessation. As this article describes, staff training and additional equipment, such as hoists, may be needed as clients’ muscular dystrophy progresses.
