Physiotherapy for service users: a personal account
This article describes the career of a learning disability physiotherapist between 1988 and 2012. During this period, many people with learning disabilities moved from long-term institutions to supported living accommodation. Meanwhile, practitioners adopted a holistic approach to mobility management that involved physiotherapy. The article explains how this development and other changes to government policy affected the lives of clients and service providers.
