Bank nurse pay cuts: anger at move that could cost staff thousands

Bank nurses are said to be angry and disheartened by a trust’s decision to cut its bank pay rates for entry and mid-level band 5 rates. This is forcing more qualified nurses, who rely on the extra shifts to make ends meet, and full-time bank staff to work at a reduced rate that could amount to thousands of pounds over the course of a year. Theirs is not an isolated case and the RCN has warned that the cuts could increase agency spending and contribute to the continuing workforce crisis.
