Bank nurses in band 3 roles: trust under fire over shifts offer

An NHS trust is cutting back on its use of registered nurses on the bank in certain areas, but has told nurses they can still take band 3 bank shifts to work in unregistered support roles. The move has been condemned on social media as posing risk to nurses’ registration – and for much less pay. One post said employers should stop using staff, particularly nurses, to save costs at the expense of patient safety.
