Ex-nurse ‘adversely influenced’ daughter who died after refusing chemo

A coroner has concluded that Paloma Shemirani, 23, died after refusing chemotherapy for non-Hodgkin lymphoma after she was ‘adversely influenced’ by her mother, former nurse and conspiracy theorist Kate Shemirani. At Kent and Medway Coroner’s Court in Maidstone, coroner Catherine Wood found Ms Shemirani’s parents’ promotion of alternative treatments, including coffee enemas, contributed to her death. Despite an 80% survival chance with chemotherapy, Ms Shemirani was swayed to reject it. Her twin brother Gabriel blamed their mother entirely.
