NHS pay: nursing staff expected to reject 3.6% award
Nursing staff are expected to reject a 3.6% NHS pay rise, potentially leading to industrial action later this year, according to a report by the BBC. The RCN has previousl labelled the pay award ‘grotesque,’ saying it would be eroded by inflation. GMB union members have voted to reject the award. The health and social care secretary Wes Streeting has begun the pay review process for 2026–2027 unusually early.
