Nursing staff training grants of up to £1,600 now available

Nursing and midwifery staff can apply for grants of between £1,000 and £1,600 towards professional training, continuing professional development, undergraduate degrees or postgraduate qualifications. Applications for the RCN Foundation grants are open until 22 September for studies beginning between January 2026 and January 2027, and are available to non-RCN members. A new grant of up to £2,000, funded by the Needlemakers Company, has also been launched specifically for graduates looking to retrain as nurses

Each grant has its own eligibility criteria and they are open to nurses, midwives, nursing associates, maternity assistants, healthcare support workers and students
