Tributes to inspirational nurse director, who has died from lung cancer
Former nurse director Ruth Walker rose from healthcare support worker to take on senior clinical leadership positions in a career spanning four decades. She was made MBE in 2019 for her services to nursing in the NHS. Her former employer Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said Ms Walker was a supportive colleague and compassionate leader, and ‘always put patients at the heart of her work’.
