NHS pay: 3.6% award for nursing staff labelled ‘grotesque’ 

NHS nursing and healthcare staff who are on Agenda for Change contracts in England and Wales have been awarded a 3.6% pay rise for 2025-2026, backdated to April. Doctors will receive 4%. The Royal College of Nursing has strongly criticised the award and argues that the increase undervalues nurses and fails to fix long-standing pay erosion and structural issues.
