NHS pension statement delays set to affect thousands of nurses
Thousands of NHS nursing staff face delays in receiving pension statements due to an underestimation of the complex McCloud remedy, which addresses age discrimination in the 2015 NHS pension scheme. Only a fraction of more than 700,000 of people under the scheme have received statements. The revised deadlines have been missed, with no new timeline confirmed. Though 8% interest will be paid, one pension expert warns that this does not offset the financial, emotional and practical impacts caused by the uncertainty and delays.
