Nursing on a remote island: are you up for the £50k challenge?
NHS Shetland is advertising for a district nurse or nurse practitioner position on Fair Isle, the southernmost island of Shetland and one of the UK’s most remote inhabited islands, with 60 residents. The band 6 role offers a salary of up to £50,702 a year, plus allowances and relocation support. Duties of the role include emergency and routine care, with the individual being the first point of contact for all healthcare needs on the island, requiring resilience and autonomy, the advert says. The island features stunning nature, low crime and a tight-knit community, and housing is available for the postholder.
