The use of soap operas in nurse education
Storylines about health issues are common in non-medical soap operas. It is not clear whether they are included primarily for their dramatic value, or if there is an intention to raise awareness of a particular health issue. The aim of this article is to provide a rationale for the use of soap operas in the classroom and, whether intentional or otherwise, how the issues raised can be used specifically in the education of nurses.
