Patient found guilty of attempted murder of nurse at work

A patient attacked the nurse with scissors at Royal Oldham Hospital after asking for medication while she was busy with another patient. A member of staff intervened to restrain Romon Haque, 38. The nurse suffered injuries that required treatment in intensive care and left her with physical and mental trauma.  Haque pleaded guilty to possession of a blade  and accepted he had attacked the nurse, causing her serious injuries but claimed he had no intention to kill her.  He will be sentenced on 15 September.
